WA:Rail disruption in Perth

PERTH, Aug 27 AAP - Many rail commuters in Perth are having a slow trip to work after
dozens of train drivers called in sick at short notice amid wage negotiations.

Up to 40 drivers called in sick on Thursday night or Friday morning, causing train
services on the northern and southern lines into the city to be limited to two an hour,
instead of one every four minutes.

Transperth warned commuters to expect lengthy delays on Friday.

It's understood drivers are unhappy with negotiations over their Enterprise Bargaining Agreement.

Transperth said the disruption could also affect transport to Friday night's AFL match
between Fremantle and Carlton at Subiaco Oval.
