A Radford University student was arrested Thursday afternoon andcharged with possessing and distributing child pornography.
Matthew Allen Collins, 22, of Winchester was charged with fivecounts of possessing child pornography and five counts ofdistributing it, Radford police Lt. Andy Wilburn said.
He said the charges resulted from an investigation started monthsago by the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children TaskForce.
Collins' home at Greenhill Apartments was searched about 3 p.m.Thursday, Wilburn said. A computer and memory storage devices weretaken, he said.
The items will be examined, which could result in more charges,Wilburn said.
Collins was being held without bond Thursday in the New RiverValley Regional Jail.
