VIC: Blackshirts to protest outside family court
MELBOURNE, Feb 15 AAP - A militant group of fathers will conduct a mock trial of theChief Judge of the Family Court in Melbourne on Tuesday in protest at what they claimis a decline in family values.
The Blackshirts pressure group hope the demonstration outside the Family Court in WilliamStreet will highlight what they say is the corruption of moral standards by Chief JudgeAlastair Nicholson.
An effigy of Justice Nicholson, who retires this month, is to be tried and then burned.
Spokesman John Abbott said Justice Nicholson was guilty of undermining and corruptingthe moral standards of marriage, the family and the children of Australia.
He said the group had invited the judge to attend but he had refused.
The group says it has 300 members and was set up to protest against decisions of theFamily Court, which handles divorce and custody proceedings.
Tuesday's mock trial will take place from 12.30pm to 1.30pm (AEDT).
A comment from a Family Court spokesman was being sought.
